Revealing Talents & Treasures

At Kids Discovery, we map out individualized learning approaches to bring forth your child’s unique talents and traits. Each classroom explores ways to strengthen language, fine- and gross motor skills, logical thinking, problem-solving, and social-emotional development through play.

Our state’s training requirements allow childcare professionals to choose developmentally appropriate practices for the age group in which they work, allowing teachers to enhance day-to-day schedules and lesson plans to best meet children’s individual needs. We’re also COR Advantage-certified to provide observation-based skills assessments to ensure children are ready for their next levels and stages.

Philosophy

We believe children should be embraced within a caring, safe environment where they can learn through play, and that a positive approach is the best approach: Praise creates good attitudes toward learning and builds self-esteem. Learning should be a happy, rewarding experience for both child and teacher.

Staff

All our teachers are trained to recognize each child’s developmental progress through age-appropriate milestones, helping them build upon what they know to best incorporate developmental needs and interests. Such progress is reported to parents to ensure a unified approach to learning, social growth, and support.

Health & Safety

Health & Safety

All staff are required to be trained in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid. A separate “Boo-Boo Room” houses ill children waiting for pickup. Entrances are secured with restricted access, and live-view, closed circuit cameras are monitored by staff. Emergency and inclement weather preparedness plans are in place. Rooms and toys are rigorously and regularly sanitized. Three separate playgrounds are available for specific age groups, and meals/snacks meet USDA guidelines.
Training

Training

Initial employment and continuing education requirements include health, safety, nutrition, trauma and other pertinent topics. All caregivers must complete 10 in-service hours of professional development every calendar year in topics relevant to their positions (child development and learning; family/community collaboration; program management; and more). Employees may partake in unlimited training opportunities.
